Ahmed Khalil currently serves as the CEO of Raya Holding for Financial Investments, overseeing a diversified portfolio of 11 portfolio companies operating across multiple sectors with a turnover over USD 1 billion. These sectors include retail, technology, fintech, BPO, manufacturing, distribution, automotive, and hospitality. Under his leadership, Raya Holding has expanded its operations across four continents, growing its workforce to over 20,000 employees while achieving sustainable revenue and profitability growth. The company has also increased its U.S. dollar proceeds to over 30% of its total turnover, further strengthening its global financial position.
Khalil also serves as Vice Chairman on the Supervisory Board of Makarony Polskie, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in Poland, and previously held board positions at Fawry and Rameda Pharma. With 20 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, business development, and general management, along with 17 years of board experience, he brings extensive expertise in corporate leadership and investment strategy.
His career began in retail, where he successfully managed and expanded a family-owned fashion apparel chain, gaining first-hand experience in scaling a business. After a three-year stint at Microsoft Egypt, where he took on a sales role and played a key role in developing and expanding the PC system integrator network in Egypt, strengthening Microsoft market presence, he transitioned into Raya Holding, taking leadership roles across its recycling, food & beverage, and real estate investments.
From 2012 to 2018, Khalil served as the CEO of Raya Restaurants, where he played a pivotal role in developing and expanding Raya Restaurants, the owner of the Ovio restaurant chain. Simultaneously, from 2013 to 2019, he took on the role of CEO of Raya Smart Buildings, spearheading the development of its flagship commercial facility, Galleria 40, which has since become one of Cairo’s premier business and lifestyle destinations. His dual leadership across these sectors strengthened Raya’s footprint in hospitality.
Since 2020, Khalil has been serving as Group CEO of Raya Holding, leading the company’s overall growth strategy, strengthening its market position, and driving operational excellence across its investment portfolio.
Khalil holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Financial Management and Marketing, from the American University in Cairo (AUC). He is also a graduate of the German School in Cairo (DEO).
