Mr. Medhat Mohamed Ibrahim Khalil is a visionary leader who has dedicated his career to shaping the trajectory of Raya Holding and its subsidiaries. Graduating from Cairo University’s Faculty of Commerce in 1977, he embarked on a journey that led him to senior roles at IBM before founding Protech and Oratech in 1993 and 1997, respectively. These companies later merged to form Raya Holding, where Khalil has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director since 1999.

Under his leadership, Raya Holding has experienced exponential growth, with subsidiaries’ business volume soaring from EGP 88 million in 1999 to over EGP 31.3 billion in 2023, accompanied by a workforce expansion from 285 individuals to more than 18,000 highly specialized professionals.

Beyond his corporate endeavors, Engineer Khalil has held prominent positions in esteemed organizations such as the Smart Villages Company and the Egyptian American Economic Council. He is actively engaged in various sports, community, and charitable activities, serving on the Board of Trustees of Sadat Academy and University and the Board of Directors of the Egyptian National Fund for Youth and Sports Activities. Additionally, as Chairman of the Egyptian Sailing Federation and a member of the National Sports Council, Khalil has played a pivotal role in advancing the sport of sailing in Egypt. His multifaceted contributions exemplify his commitment to excellence and service to society.

Ahmed Khalil currently serves as the CEO of Raya Holding for Financial Investments, overseeing a diversified portfolio of 11 portfolio companies operating across multiple sectors with a turnover over USD 1 billion. These sectors include retail, technology, fintech, BPO, manufacturing, distribution, automotive, and hospitality. Under his leadership, Raya Holding has expanded its operations across four continents, growing its workforce to over 20,000 employees while achieving sustainable revenue and profitability growth. The company has also increased its U.S. dollar proceeds to over 30% of its total turnover, further strengthening its global financial position.

Khalil also serves as Vice Chairman on the Supervisory Board of Makarony Polskie, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in Poland, and previously held board positions at Fawry and Rameda Pharma. With 20 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, business development, and general management, along with 17 years of board experience, he brings extensive expertise in corporate leadership and investment strategy.

His career began in retail, where he successfully managed and expanded a family-owned fashion apparel chain, gaining first-hand experience in scaling a business. After a three-year stint at Microsoft Egypt, where he took on a sales role and played a key role in developing and expanding the PC system integrator network in Egypt, strengthening Microsoft market presence, he transitioned into Raya Holding, taking leadership roles across its recycling, food & beverage, and real estate investments.

From 2012 to 2018, Khalil served as the CEO of Raya Restaurants, where he played a pivotal role in developing and expanding Raya Restaurants, the owner of the Ovio restaurant chain. Simultaneously, from 2013 to 2019, he took on the role of CEO of Raya Smart Buildings, spearheading the development of its flagship commercial facility, Galleria 40, which has since become one of Cairo’s premier business and lifestyle destinations. His dual leadership across these sectors strengthened Raya’s footprint in hospitality.

Since 2020, Khalil has been serving as Group CEO of Raya Holding, leading the company’s overall growth strategy, strengthening its market position, and driving operational excellence across its investment portfolio.

Khalil holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Financial Management and Marketing, from the American University in Cairo (AUC). He is also a graduate of the German School in Cairo (DEO).

Hussein’s educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from Cairo University, an MBA from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences, and executive education from Harvard University.

She is widely recognized in the industry as a Reward Guru, celebrated for her deep expertise in market practices and her visionary approach to designing and executing forward-looking compensation and people strategies.
On August 1st, 2025, Marwa was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer at Raya Holding for Financial Investments, where she leads the company’s human capital agenda across its diverse portfolio. Her strategic remit includes driving organizational transformation, shaping the company’s talent strategy, embedding future-ready leadership capabilities, and ensuring HR practices are agile and aligned with global standards to match Raya’s ambitious growth trajectory.
Prior to joining Raya, Marwa served as Head of Reward & Policy at Vodafone Egypt, where she architected the remuneration strategy for over 9,000 employees. Over her 19-year tenure, she held several pivotal roles, including Head of HR Business Partners for Technology & Enabling Functions, and was instrumental in delivering people solutions that accelerated business outcomes and enhanced employee engagement.
Her earlier career includes impactful HR leadership roles at Allianz and Mercedes-Benz, where she gained invaluable experience in managing complex people strategies within multinational environments.
Marwa is a certified Corporate Board Director and deeply committed to talent development and mentoring the next generation of HR leaders.
