Raya Holding Strengthens Data Center Investments and Considers New Acquisition with Up to USD 60 Million in Equity Funding

Cairo, Egypt – September 24, 2026 – In a new step reflecting its continued expansion in digital infrastructure, Raya Holding for Financial Investments announced that its Board of Directors has granted conditional approval for an equity investment of up to USD 60 million through Raya Information Technology to support the proposed acquisition of 100% of the equity in an Egyptian data center facility.

The move comes at a time of accelerating investment momentum in Egypt’s data center sector, driven by growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital services, alongside the country’s efforts to strengthen its position as a regional hub for data centers and digital infrastructure.

The proposed transaction does not represent Raya’s entry into the sector. The Group has more than a decade of experience in the data center industry through Raya Data Center, established in 2012 under Raya Information Technology, providing data center, cloud computing, and managed services to a diverse base of local and international enterprises.

Raya has also strengthened its expansion plans in the sector through its partnership with Africa50, the pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager. The partnership included a USD 15 million investment from Africa50, alongside USD 10 million from Raya Information Technology, to support the expansion of Raya Data Center’s capacity and the development of a new Tier III data center in Egypt.

The proposed acquisition reflects Raya’s continued strategy of expanding its investments in high-growth sectors while leveraging its accumulated operational and technological expertise to strengthen its presence in the digital infrastructure market.

According to the Board resolution, the proposed investment will be directed through a capital increase in Raya Data Center, a subsidiary of Raya Information Technology, to finance the equity portion of the acquisition consideration, with Raya’s total contribution not exceeding USD 60 million, equivalent to approximately EGP 3 billion on an indicative basis.

The approval remains conditional upon the successful completion of the proposed acquisition, the execution of definitive binding transaction documents, and the satisfaction of all applicable conditions and required regulatory and legal approvals. Should the transaction not be completed for any reason, the resolution will not create any obligation on Raya Holding or its subsidiaries to inject the approved funding.
