After fifteen years of experience in information technology & financial services in the USA and managing her own IT consulting firm, Asaad returned back to Egypt and joined Raya Holding in 2005. In a few years, she managed to hold a number of multifaceted
positions in Raya Holding as IT Director; she was responsible for Raya IT strategy, including IT Infrastructure and Solutions Investments. In 2007 - 2012, she was the Corporate Communications Director heading the Investor Relations, Marketing and Corporate Communications departments.
Asaad was elected Corporate Secretary of the Board of Directors in 2007 to Present. Asaad was appointed the CEO of
Raya Data Center. She is a Certified Director & Corporate Governance Consultant from the International Finance
Corporation (IFC), she’s also a member in many associations:
- A Founder and Board Member of Egyptian Investor Relations
- Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt
(ICT Core Committee Member).
- Member of the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA).
- Member of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and
- Member of the Global Compact Network Egypt (GCNE) (Steering Committee Member).
- A Founder & Board Member of The Egyptian Directors &
Governance Association (EDGA).
- Member of the Chamber of Information Technology (CIT).
- Asaad graduated from the University of Houston in Texas in 1993
and conducted her higher, education studies at the
University of Texas.
Currently. Assad holds the position of the CEO of Raya Contact Center.
Tamer Badrawi graduated from the AUC with a degree in Management & Construction Engineering in 1995. He then joined
(MAC) one of the factories of Oriental Weaver Group and assumed the role of senior export manager in charge of the
European & Russian market.
Tamer later went private in 2001 and set up C3, Egypt’s first outsource call center, where he assumed the role of founding
partner and managing director until the company was sold to Raya in 2009. From 2009 until 2010. Tamer joined Raya Holding
as the Director of Business Development until he set up the transportation line of business in Raya, OSTOOL Transport,
where he assumes the role of CEO.
CEO - Aman for E-Payments
Mohamed Wahby was the CEO of Raya Social Media one of the newest subsidiaries of Raya Holding. Since its inception by the end of 2011, Raya Social Media has launched nassya.com, the first hyper-local social network in Egypt and the Arab world. Prior to Raya, Wahby has spent all of his professional career in the ICT sector in Egypt working for distinguished companies including Microsoft, IBM, The Bank of Nova Scotia and others in various positions including technology management, audience, and product marketing, and product development.
Wahby holds a bachelor degree in Engineering from Ain Shams University and a Master’s in Computer Science
from the University of Louisville. Currently, Wahby holds the position of the CEO of Aman for Financials Services a FINTECH Company that pledges a better quality of life to people through convenient, easy and available e-payment services.
Aman aspires to become the leading FINTECH company in the region, and envisions an ultimate Egyptian cash-less society with full financial inclusion, previously unattainable to masses of Egyptians.
Hesham Abdel Rassoul
CEO - Raya IT
In his capacity as CEO, Hesham Abdel Rassoul holds an instrumental role in leading Raya’s Information Technology
a line of business to provide the ideal mix of technology solutions to meet the unique requirements of business operations.
Abdel Rassoul joined Raya in 1998.
With his strong track record, previously and until September 2007, he held the position of Raya Integration’s General Manager
& Director of Infrastructure where he developed a high caliber team that was responsible for designing and implementing solutions for all the Infrastructure projects.
Abdel Rassoul graduated from Engineering at Ain Shams University majoring in Telecommunications and is a member of the AmCham and BEBA associations.

Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer – Raya Holding
Hazem is Raya Holding’s Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer. He joined the Group in 2012 after 20 years of experience in the Banking and Hospitality sectors. His knowledge, experience and exposure spans Egypt and Africa.
In 2005 with the start of the banking sector reform, he managed the Central Bank of Egypt and The United Bank Human Resources modernization initiative. Before that he was the opening HR Director of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Egypt; Egypt Regional Director of Training of Accor Hotels; and Director of Hilton Africa Training Center in Kenya.
Abdelhady holds a B.Sc. in Hotel Management and a Master of Public Administration from the American University in Cairo.
CEO - Raya Restaurants & Raya Smart Buildings
Ahmed Khalil’s background entails sales, marketing and business development which he gained through his work in Microsoft Egypt.
Before joining Microsoft, Khalil gained extensive retail experience from running the family business, where he managed and developed a home-grown retail chain of fashion apparel stores. Khalil serves on the board of Raya Holding since 2008
as well as other leading companies such as Fawry Technologies and Rameda Pharmaceuticals.
He holds a BA in Business Administration, with a double concentration in Finance and Marketing, from the American
University in Cairo (2005) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School (2012), with a focus in Corporate Finance and Real Estate.
Currently, Khalil is the CEO of Raya Smart Buildings.
CEO - Raya Trade
In 2001, Bassem Megahed joined Raya Trade at a time when it was expanding rapidly across Egypt, and targeting to go regional as well. Megahed sprinted his way across the accounting functions excelling and developing plans and strategies that achieve seamless processes. By 2003 he was readily an accomplished accounting manager and his work was extended to the rest
of the financial function.
His sharp financial vision and dynamic style soundly supported Raya Trade’s racing growth and was an asset to the corporate
finance as a whole. By 2007 Megahed’s was chosen as the Director of Finance, where he since became a key player in the critical preparation of short and long-term financial plans and forecasts, analyzing and reporting the financial performance of the Trade line of business to the management board and Board of Directors.
Today, Megahed assumes the position of Raya Trade CEO. Bassem Megahed graduated in 1996 from the Faculty of Commerce in Cairo University and holds the General Management Diploma from Harvard Business School of Management.
CEO - Bariq
Usama Zaki was appointed BariQ CEO in September 2014. With a career that started in Alcatel Italy as a Telecom System
Engineer and then joining the international leader group in the implementation of integrated transport and Metro systems, Ansaldo STS, Zaki was covering most of the projects phases from the conceptual and detailed design, installation, commissioning & startup to the operation and maintenance phase. Zaki has worked on several challenging projects such as Copenhagen Driverless Metro in Denmark, Dublin Light Rail Transit in Ireland, and Bresica Metro in Italy.
Zaki as well has assumed the position of the O&M Manager-Telecom system for the CPH metro. Zaki in 2005 has
started his career with Raya and has become the maintenance director for five years where he and his great team
succeeded to position Raya Maintenance as the leading consumer electronics after sales service provided in Egypt,
the Middle East and Africa.
Samer El Waziri
CEO - Raya FMCG
Samer El Waziri currently holds the position of Raya FMCG CEO. El Waziri played a key role as part of the management team who has been achieving significant financial returns and building the company that is nowadays
considered one of the strongest IT and Telecommunications companies in the region.
Previously and until December 2005, El Waziri held the position of Finance Director and Board Member of GlaxoSmithKline.
El Waziri has 29 years of experience in financial management, including the interpretation of financial data relevant
to manufacturing and marketing, evaluation and general coordination of corporate investment decisions and
El Waziri holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Cairo University.
Mr. Waziri also obtained a management diploma from Harvard Business School.
CEO - Aman Financial Services And Aman Microfinance
In 1999, Hazem Moghazi joined Raya Trade at that time known as Protech.
Moghazi started his career at Raya as a network administrator in the Information Technology function, excelling and developing IT Systems and automation for the whole business, excelling his career in the IT till being promoted to the IT Director of the trade
line of business and being part of the success. By 2010 he had the responsibility of the logistics head beside the IT function
to translate the automation and development to the various logistics functions By 2013, he had the responsibility of the retail
function as Retail director, where he introduced the mega store concept as well as the installment concept and grow the number of stores to 100 stores including the franchise ones, achieving an excellent financial results in terms of revenues and profits.
By 2017, he had the responsibility to start a new line of business for Raya which is Aman Financial services and to act as a new CEO for this line of business, addressing the consumer finance and the micro finance through a wide network of retail stores. Hazem
Moghazi graduated in 1997 from the Faculty of Engineering in Ain shams University and holds the master in business administration
from RITI (2010) and hold the Advanced Management Diploma from Harvard Business School of Management.
CFO - Raya Holding
Hossam Hussein serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Raya Holding for financial investments. Hossam played a key role as part of the management team that helped to launch the shares of the holding company in the Egyptian Stock Exchange in 2005, which helped the company to start setting its objectives, which at present is one of the most important investment conglomerates in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Hossam has 23 years of experience in financial management, short and long-term loan and financing, as well as interpretation and analysis of financial related data, financial analysis, cash management, financial investments, long-term financial planning, budget planning and overall coordination of corporate investment decisions and strategic planning.
In 1999 he joined the Raya Holding Group of Companies. He has held several positions, including Treasurer and credit controller Manager for Raya Holding and Financial Manager of Raya Algeria. He also served as head of the financial sectors of Raya Holding Company for Financial Investments and is responsible for investment management, investor relations, business planning, tax administration and financial management. Mr. Hossam worked to monitor the performance of all the companies in the Group through his work as head of the financial sectors in terms of monitoring the performance indicators and the extent of achieving the objectives of the company and its future plan and through his work on the development of strategic plans short and long term.
During this period he served as a board member for most of Raya Holding's subsidiaries.
Hossam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Cairo University in 1995 and he received an MBA from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences and a certificate from the International Finance Institute (US Treasury) in international finance, cash management and modern derivatives.
CEO - Raya Restaurants
Karim has a long history of entrepreneurship and involvement in hospitality field. With more than 20 years of experience with industry leaders, Karim has worked in every facet of the hospitality sector with world-class companies. His career encompasses managerial and executive positions with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), International Restaurants Group (IRG), and Watheeqa Investment Company (WIC). He has excelled by focusing on key areas of expertise: selection and finalization of business concept, strategic management, due diligence and hospitality contract management, business expansions, mergers & acquisitions, manpower, recruitment, coaching, organizational restructuring etc.
Not only has he been a key contributor to the initiation, launching and success of several hotels and restaurants in Africa and the Middle East, but he also founded and managed the Cairo-based catering concept Kitchen Moves targeting corporations, schools and individuals, with a service offering ranging from managing cafeterias, to executive coffee breaks, lunches, dinners as well as private events.
Innovative and resourceful, Karim offered consulting services to startups, companies and investors, helping them in (1) setting up and developing their businesses in the fields of hotels, restaurants and retail; (2) identifying investment opportunities, while creating high quality financial models to translate conceptual business models into profit-making businesses; and (3) developing brands with a view to penetrate the Middle Eastern and African markets.
As such, Karim has developed an excellent awareness of the business ecosystem and an exceptional ability to think global while acting with an understanding of the region’s specifics.
Staying true to his culture of entrepreneurship and leadership, Karim seeks to achieve, motivate, inspire and share his skills, knowledge and experience through offering mentoring sessions to startups. Karim is also active in several organizations. As a Board Member of the Egyptian Lebanese Businessmen Association (Egypt), he has played a prominent role as event Organizer and keynote speaker.
Karim holds a Master in Business Administration from the Universities of Paris Dauphine and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France). He graduated from the Glion Hotel School (Switzerland) With a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management. He also holds a Bachelor Of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of Wales (England).
